Big Horn Hospital is excited to announce our 2020 Hospital Foundation Showcase Fundraising Event. This year we will be showcasing 
talented local artists, each artist have a piece that they donate to our silent auction and we will be featuring the items throughout the next week. Judd Thompson has donated a 20×20 acrylic mixed media piece titled “Sunburst” that he created this year.
Born in 1983, Judd Thompson spent his formative years growing up on the Crow Indian Reservation, gaining inspiration from the art he was surrounded by in his parents’ business, The Custer Battlefield Trading Post. Judd draws inspiration from Western artists, especially Joseph Henry Sharp. Judd uses his passion for color theory to capture the essence of Crow Country in a variety of media. After graduating from the University of Wyoming in 2010 with a degree in Art & Art History, Judd moved to Billings, MT where he currently resides.
Merritt Harris grew up on a ranch near Wyola, Montana. He moved to Arizona in high school. He married Shelley in Arizona. They moved to Hardin in 1991. He has been a guide for The Bighorn Trout Shop in Ft. Smith Montana for nearly 30 years. In the winter months he keeps busy building guide nets and landing nets made with beautiful woods, and amazing craftsmanship. Last year he tried his hand at wood carvings. His love for the outdoors is evident in his carvings of native birds and fish. The carving he has donated is a long billed Curlew and a short billed Dowitcher, the base is driftwood from Bighorn lake.
